Program Structure & Core Modules

This intensive 5-day program combines expert faculty, case study analysis, and a unique, immersive boardroom practicum. The curriculum is built on five core modules:

Module 1: Governance & Strategy – The conceptual model, roles, responsibilities, and strategic thinking.
Module 2: Governance & Risk – Linking strategy to risk, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), and external communications.
Module 3: Governance & People – The role of the Chair, CEO succession, committees, and integrity.
Module 4: Governance & Board Effectiveness – In-camera sessions, board evaluations, orientation, and renewal.
Module 5: Governance & Resources (Elective) – Financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring performance.
The Capstone Experience: After completing Modules 1-4, you will participate in a comprehensive practicum exam, acting as a board member for a fictitious corporation. Passing this exam awards you the Pro.Dir™ (Professional Director) designation. Completing Module 5 adds the Pro.Dir.Gov™ designation, ideal for those serving on public sector boards.
